FAQ's

What should we wear?

Riding Attire - All children should wear long trousers or leggings. Shorts and skirts make riding very difficult and uncomfortable. No open toed shoes (A boot with a small heal is preferable) and dress according to the weather for outside play.

Do I need to stay with my child?

All parents are welcome to stay. Under 5yrs may need a parent or carer to assist and can walk along side during the ride supporting by holding onto the child's knee. For children under 4yr, the Pony Handler is responsible for controlling the pony whilst Parents/Carers are responsible for supervising/supporting children during the session.

Can I decorate the Haybarn?

If you would like to arrive a half hour early to set up the Hay Barn or decorate. Please just tell our staff that you will be arriving early.

What if the weather is bad?

The Haybarn provides an undercover area for eating and we ask that children dress for the weather in warm coats of its cold and rainy. Although we do have an all weather arena, to avoid risk to child or pony we reserve the right to reschedule parties due to extreme weather conditions. Extreme weather would be very high winds and/or torrential rain. However we have held parties after some snow.

Can I feed the ponies?

Handlers will help with any pony feeding. Ponies are NOT to be fed during the party/event unless authorised by the handler. Sussex Pony Parties Ltd take no responsibility for any injury sustained as a result of safety instructions not being adhered to
